Text Box: Welcome to The UPLIFT Institute. The UPLIFT Institute is a National and International Policy Research Initiative which serves as the research and educational arm of the UPLIFT Community Foundation which is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit Organization. When we added the Institute to our programmatic segment, we wanted to develop an initiative that could bring issues around the world closer to all of our communities. Therefore, the institute will be seeking ways to ignite the Social, Economic and Health potentials of some of the best human and spiritual resources available throughout our communities. With this great human potential, we pledge to bring together people representing all races, cultures, religions, ethnic diversity of the human family in a way where we will be able to transform communities and nations once wrought with poverty and misery in to an oasis of peace and justice for all. The Institute goals are to find ways to help solve some of the problems facing communities that challenge the future generations of the 21st Century. This means helping them become aware of the body and mind connection, getting people engaged in research and debating and finding answers to issues that solve and prevent conflicts to help make democracy work. President Abraham Lincoln once said that “I am a firm believer in the gift God gave to mankind. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any National crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts”. Through conferences, public forums, the exchange of information from experts and organizations within the public policy arena, media, and other activities, the ultimate goals of the UPLIFT Institute is to bridge the gap between the academia and the public policy sphere in order to facilitate the making of sound research and policy decisions. By creating a nexus between scholars, media, and decision makers, the institute will also serve as a clearinghouse of information, research and policy issues, and data accessible by both the private and public sector for the advancement of logical and effective policy formulation and implementation. In doing this, I am committed to leading the institute in the direction that will analyze and make available it findings to the communities we serve, and to various forms of the national and international media. We are looking forward to collaborating with and exchanging research and policy development information with the local, national and international research policy organizations, educational institutions, and forums.
